Ajay’s ‘Maidaan’ will be strong even in the big clash with Akshay, this trick of the makers created the atmosphere of the film!

Maidaan

One thing that makes the atmosphere of ‘Maidan’ a little dull is that this film is going to be released after a lot of delay. But now the makers of ‘Maidan’ have played such a gamble, which will surely make their film a tough competition for ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ in theatres.

Eid is bringing a big box office clash for Bollywood. Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s film ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan‘ is going to be released on April 11. Along with this, Ajay Devgan’s ‘Maidan’ will also reach theaters on the same day.

Akshay and Tiger’s film is an action entertainer and it was visible in the trailer itself that director Ali Abbas Zafar is going to try a new level of action in it. Both his heroes are far ahead of other Bollywood heroes in terms of action and in such a situation, this film is really bringing a big treat for action cinema lovers. Also, in the film, a powerful actor like Prithviraj Sukumaran is in the role of villain, who looks very strong in the trailer itself.

Ajay Devgan’s ‘Maidan’, which is going to be released before this, is a biopic. In the film, Ajay is playing the role of coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who showed Indian football its golden era. ‘Maidan’ is an emotional drama film and the trend has been that if action films work, they overshadow other films.

On the other hand, one thing that makes the atmosphere of ‘Maidan’ a little dull is that this film is going to be released after a lot of delay. But now the makers of ‘Maidan’ have played such a gamble, which will surely make their film a tough competition for ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ in theatres.

‘Maidan’ leads in the game of word of mouth

Earlier ‘Maidan’ and ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ were scheduled to release on April 10, but now both have been postponed by a day. But the makers of ‘Maidan’ held a media screening of the film on Monday itself where film critics and YouTubers who talk about films watched the film. The confidence that the makers showed in the content of their film was successful and from Monday night itself, reviews of ‘Maidan’ started coming in which are very positive.

Here also the makers have played a game. After the press screening of films, reviews are normally withheld until the film is released in theatres. There is a chance that if any negative reviews are found then they also come out only after the release of the film. Earlier this ban on reviews for ‘Maidan’ was till the morning of its release. But perhaps in the press screening itself, the makers got the idea that ‘Maidan’ was winning the hearts of the critics and hence they removed this ban, due to which now reviews of ‘Maidan’ have appeared almost everywhere.

Ajay has a strong fan base in the audience and people have always appreciated his strong acting. In such a situation, due to positive reviews, the public’s excitement for ‘Maidan’ has started increasing and it will definitely give a good start to Ajay’s film.

There is still tension for ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’

Earlier, when advance booking for Akshay-Tiger’s film started on Saturday, according to the release date of 10th, it was not getting very good response. When its makers kept the release date on 11th, a plan also came to the fore that some paid preview shows of the film would be organized on the evening of 10th. But now this plan has also been cancelled. In such a situation, ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ will now reach the public directly at 11 am. Till now no information has been revealed regarding the press screening of this film.

This film, which is already seeing lukewarm response, will now have to rely entirely on reviews and word of mouth of the public, which will be released on the morning of 11th April. For some time now, the audience has been continuously seeing a plethora of action films in theatres. Be it Shahrukh Khan’s ‘Pathan’ and ‘Jawaan’ or Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’. In between, Prabhas’s ‘Salaar’ was also released. In such a situation, Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Fighter’ may have been saved from being a flop, but it did not get the same solid earnings as earlier action films based on patriotic themes were getting.

There is a big risk in front of ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ that if the critics do not like it and the reviews are negative, then the atmosphere for the film will become tense even before its release. Perhaps that is why the makers have also canceled the paid-preview plan of the film. Reports suggest that while Akshay and Tiger’s film will be released on around 3000 screens, ‘Maidan’ has got around 2700 screens.

According to the cost and scale of production, the stake is big on ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’. Reports say that this film has been made with a budget of more than Rs 300 crore. In such a situation, this film of Ali Abbas Zafar would need a big start from the very first day. But the way the makers are trying to save ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ from negative reactions and want to take the entire game till the release day, there is also a big risk in it. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see what wonders ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ does when it releases on Thursday.
